from the moment i became a u.s. citizen in september, it's all i've been talking about. yes, i could've cast an absentee vote, but when it's the first election EVER for you.. it's a big deal. there are a lot of reasons why i'm such an enthusiastic voter. latin and central america are filled with painful histories of disastrous consequences of having someone in power with questionable and disturbing intentions. i've been taught that it's not just something to take lightly and that it does in fact matter. it is now my duty as an american citizen to vote for the person who represents us to the rest of the world. they matter.
i don't always get the system, and i certainly don't always agree with it.. but i am so grateful to have voted for barack obama and have confidence in him to do this country well. i think that the world is cheering with us tonight as we support obama and i think that in return, he will do the world well. so tonight, rejoice!! si se puede :)
now i can leave in 12 days with a peaceful mind, knowing i have left the country in good hands.

Bon voyage!!
Saludos! =0)
Congrats on exercising your right to vote for the first time! It's a good thing Obama won, because now you will not have to hide the fact that you are American when you travel. It's great to be abroad and be able to make others happy just by saying non-chalantly, "yea, i voted for barack" :)
Anyway, i can't wait to read more and keep up with your travels.
Best of luck to you both!
Tati dear, I will for sure be a daily visitor to this site... just know that we'll be thinking of you and wishing you the best time ever... take care of yourselves, you are my only toosie roll.... have a wonderful time... keep us posted... love you... have fun!!!, be safe....
To my Tater Tat and The Kaep,
Girls, I can't even describe my excitement for the both of you. I am hoping your travels have been safe and the many more travels to come remain that way. I miss you both already so much; Kelton, the fact that you're now farther away than a few states makes me miss you even more...and Tati, I've come to realize you're more than a friend to me, you are truly a sister.
You are both about to encounter some of the most life-altering and amazing experiences you ever have and I couldn't be more elated for you! I wish I was with you (yes, STILL kicking myself for not going, probably always will) but can rest easy knowing you're with one another. Take care of eath other and have an f-ing BLAST. You are both among my favorite people on this earth, I love you!! Be safe, my lovies, will be checking this blog a LOT~ :)

Hope you like the Office. The troubling twosome back traveling again, wow many might agree, “Dangerous”. Nice JOB Tat on your vote! Hope all the hard planning is paying off. I wish nothing but the best for the two of you. LIVE IT UP and ENJOY!
Be careful girls and have a memorable time! We love you Kel, Dad, Mom and Wil
Hello Kel...its crazy aunt diane.
Go to the square then wander around in the big market.
One at the big market get the the first 4 way cross and go left.
About 3/4 the way down you will see a massage place upstairs...they are fab for your feet. NEVER pay full price at the market...cut it in half and bargin up...
The massage place is on the right...very safe but not like the usa of course.
when bargining NEVER AGREE ON A PRICE, let them haggle(BE POLITE to speak loudly is rude in the culture)like I said cut it in half and bargin upwards to 65% no more than 70% of what was asked.
DO NOT AGREE even if they have wrapped it (better that they do), then smile and name your price again...you usually win!!! its fun
Dont waste your money at the food in the "needle". Go for a drink and the view...be done. Take a rickshaw ride. If you have a lonely planet book...hit the highlites from what they recommend. It is usually good.
Where else are you going?
send me an email at ex0dus@emirates.net.ae, you should come to Dubai!!!!
